SUNDAY MORNING OPEN

Open Thought | 9:45am | Zoom

An open, thoughtful discussion about faith and spiritual practice in community. This fall we are reading the Janet Wolf’s “Practicing Resurrection: The Gospel of Mark and Radical Discipleship” explores how we can live a life of radical discipleship in addressing social injustice. Wolf examines issues of poverty, gender, race, justice, and equality with the book of Mark as our guiding text. Everyone is welcome!

SUNDAYS FUMC DENTON

New Horizons | 9:30am | Zoom

A mixture of singles and married adults, 50s-70s, discussing a wide variety of spiritual, social, political, and personal issues in a loosely-structured and realized environment.

Kids’ Sunday School | fumcdenton.com/kids 

Each week, kids visit different workshops in art, cooking, drama, science, and games that helps them connect Bible stories to everyday life.

Youth | Sundays | 7pm | Zoom

MONDAY NIGHTS

Open Book Club | Every Other Monday | 8pm | Zoom 

We're a group of people who cares deeply about people, justice, and seek to find truth in literature. We are currently studying African American Literature with our co-facilitators, Pamela Sanders and Krystal Stroud. You don't need any qualifications to be part of this group, just an open mind and a love of stories. We meet every other week to discuss what we've read and how it's impacted us. May we be transformed by these stories together!

Join your Open family for a fun game night on Zoom. We'll gather, check-in, then play a super fun crowd game together. Hilarity, hijinx, and even some honest to goodness real talk will ensue!

Join other Open moms for a weekly opportunity to laugh, grow, share, and find strength and moxie together in community.

Reservoir Bible Study | Thursdays | 7 pm | Sept 24-Nov 12 | Zoom 

The Reser­voir is an acces­si­ble week­day devo­tion­al for renew­al and growth in Jesus. It cov­ers foun­da­tion­al questions­­—What is spir­i­tu­al for­ma­tion? What is my pic­ture of God? What is my pic­ture of myself? We’ll do orientations on 9/10, 9/15 to introduce the material and ourselves and make a plan book distribution (books have already been purchased by Glow by Open). This group will be led by Rev. Kake Nations.
